KOREA Spring Festivals 2013 (March - May)

 
 
The cold winds and freezing temperatures of winter have passed and spring is drawing near. In Korea, spring temperatures range from 5℃ to 20℃, and the return of warm weather brings wild flowers to bloom all over the country. As the weather improves, so do people's spirits, and springtime festivals are held throughout the country. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the good weather by participating in Korea's flower, food, and culture festivals.

Spring Flower Festivals to Signal the Changing of Seasons
Spring announces its arrival in Korea with a blanket of yellow and white blossoms spreading over the country. Cherry blossoms, apricot flowers, and cornus fruit trees bloom from the beginning of March when the air is still chilly. The warm season sees a host of festivals take place in Korea where visitors can stroll amidst the glorious blossoming flowers and see the country at its best.

Introduction
Gwangyang International Maehwa Festival takes place in Seomjin Village, home of the largest number of apricot blossom trees in Korea. During the festival period, visitors can enjoy the walk beneath the apricot blossoms, and also sample and purchase local organic apricot products.

Transportation
From Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, take an express bus to Gwangyang (광양) Terminal.
* Bus schedule: 06:30-22:10, 1hr intervals
Take a taxi to Seomjin Village.
(During the festival period, shuttle buses run between Gwangyang Terminal and Seomjin Village.)
